The history of Kuhns Bros. is truly an American success story, fueled by countless hours of hard work, inspiration and faith. It begins back in 1946 in the rich Pennsylvania forests, when Carl R. Kuhns “Pop” purchases his portable sawmill from Montgomery Ward and starts in the lumber business under the name “C.R. Kuhns and Sons Sawmill.”

1954 Pop’s twin sons Leonard and Larry, who toiled side-by-side with their father since they were boys at the lumber mill, later founded Kuhns Bros. Lumber Company in 1962.
